I did 23 minutes and 1 second of pain free barefoot running tonight. Just over 2 miles. This comes on the heels of one of the most miserable runs of my life in the NB Minimus on Wednesday. Shoes are evil!
Here's a video of me running barefoot tonight after finishing up:

Did anybody ask you what the heck you were doing?
I'm sold on the barefoot too. I'd like to wear those five fingers all day long but I'm not sure I could get away with it at work.
Yes, actually. Some kid from the back of an SUV said: "Bro, where's your shoes? What the fuck?" I've also gotten a lot of strange stares from people, enthusiastic waves, and thumbs up.
I'm not putting a pair of running shoes on again until my injury is completely gone. And even then it might not be more than sandals or something to only cover my feet in the winter time. I've only been at it for three weeks--covered 6.7 miles last week unshod--and my feet already feel so much stronger. During the first and second weeks, I had a few issues, one with the ball of my right foot, and two with my posterior tib. tendon, but those have since cleared up. I've also had a few rocks stuck in the soles of my feet that I didn't pry out until the end of the runs. That's always fun.
I never thought that I could run a marathon in shoes, but I was wrong. I've had doubts that I can do the same without shoes, but, honestly, I think it can be done in time. So, I guess that's my new challenge.
I sold my FiveFingers on eBay (not the ones you gave me). I don't really like them.
