Tonight kind of sucked. I knew that I should not have run but I couldn't help myself. I did 7 laps around a 1/13 mile track at the gym in fingers. To say that it was a disaster would be an understatement. The ball of my left foot was not happy. Neither was the posterior tib. Didn't really notice the bigger concern, which is my right knee/leg/who knows, which was encouraging. I scheduled an appt with an ortho doc at Yale for tomorrow at 2:30. Mostly just for peace of mind. (I hope.) I need someone to tell me to rest.

sorry to hear that. if it makes you feel any better, it took me several months to get used to the fivefingers. it really is better to ease into them, first just doing short runs once a week in them and then extending very very slowly.
good luck!

patience is a virtue :)
i assure you it's well worth it though. I did a track workout in the 5Fs yesterday and it felt amazing. on the other hand, a trail run in them on Sunday felt rather swampy and rocky :P

I saw the doc at Yale this afternoon and he confirmed what I thought--hamstring tendonitis/bursitis. He said to take 600mg of Ibuprofen 3x/day and that it will clear up in a matter of days. No need to stop running--just ease back into it and do some other activity every other day.

good to hear it's an easily solved problem!
