March

I'm dedicating March to a complete recovery from Austin and whatever is going on with my right knee. During March, I plan to reintroduce strength training into my regular schedule of running and to build back up to where I was pre-Austin. Our tentative marathon plans for the rest of the year are the Niagra Falls International Marathon on October 23, 2011. That gives us more than 7 months to prepare. During those 7+ months, I'd like to do at least two half marathons and a bunch of 5 and 10ks. A monthly track workout would be nice, too. Anyone else want to talk about there 2011 plans?

My main plan is to get back into some sort of regular workout schedule. We are just so busy with 2 kiddos and Jason's commitments (full time teaching, dorm duty and other boarding school things, graduate school, hockey league) and mine (picking up the slack around the house, taking care of two children, coaching swimming, running timing system for track meets) that's it's tough to find time to workout regularly.

I have the Charlottesville 10 miler coming up in a few weeks (March 26th), a triathlon on May 15th, a duathlon in Iowa when I'm visiting my parents for a few weeks in July and another triathlon July 31st. I'd like to do a fall 1/2 marathon perhaps, and another tri, but we'll see.

I think we should all get together for a West Virginia marathon this summer. Perhaps a nice trail deal in the Appalachians.

Em, sounds like you have your hands full. Great racing plans.

Dan, is there a trail marathon in W. Va. this summer?

My biggest plan is to survive the Timberman 70.3 in NH on August 20th. My most proximate plan is to run the upcoming Ecohusky 5000 (April 10th, 11am everyone!) in the fivefingers, ideally also wearing a spiderman outfit. or perhaps the infamous Northern Nipmuck 16 miler?

40 miler sounds like fun.
