Over doing it

I did a long run yesterday, about 18 miles. Run was nice, through the trails of great falls national park in VA. However, starting feeling shitty in the afternoon and was running a bit of a fever by night time. Woke up feeling ok this morning, just tired. Anybody ever get a fever after long run?

Can't say that's ever happened to me. Though I also can't say I've ever run more than 16 miles. Also: you're in VA and you didn't tell me?! What the hell, Dan!

Are you near DC? We were visiting caroline's family (her grandma is not doing well). No time for a visit this trip but next time I will!

That's weird. Perhaps your body is not yet fully adjusted to running long? Running long compromises the immune system, which you know, it seems. When I was running a lot of miles, I got sick with a cold two/three times per year. I haven't had a cold in almost a year, and I attribute that to running less--i.e., a healthier amount.
