I woke up Monday morning with a good sized bruise on the bottom of my left foot after 12 mile trail run in west rock. Pretty rocky terrain. I'm thinking the NB minimus arent enough shoe for this kind of trail. Or am I doing something wrong? Anybody have this problem?

Try the new New Balance 1010 which is built on the Minimus last but just has more outsole protection. It just came out. Or you could try the New Balance MT110.
My Minimus trail shoes are completely shot, and I no longer run in them. I'm wearing a more supportive trail shoe now--Montrail Mountain Masochist II--which I really like.

I knew you'd have good suggestions.
Now I just need to find them on ebay for half price.
I am thinking of getting the MT1010's too Dan. I wore the minimus for the race today and not having a rock plate made the front of my foot really sore. I dont think its enough shoe for trail running, or maybe I just havent run in them enough. Good luck on your upcoming race!
