Good, but cold and windy long run today. Almost entirely pavement. I stopped twice for about 5 mintues at friends' houses along the route to get water. It was nice to stop in and say hello, especially not having anyone to run with. Not sure if stopping has any impact on training, but I felt good and ran relatively fast for a long run. I went over 18 and felt great up until the end.

I recall bringing up the issue of stopping during long runs while training for the Hartford Marathon. I think it was Geoff who said that as long as you get in the miles, stopping is not a big deal. It's actually a good idea. During our long run at Mansfield Hollow, we stopped three times for about five minutes each. In training, time is much less significant than accumulating mileage. Nice run, Dan.
Never skimp on the GU.
